from Chicago, Illinois – Marquette University- 2013 Illinois State High Jump CHAMPION!!

Hey Mr. Munoz, I have come to your high jump camp numerous times while I was in high school. I’m currently a freshman at Marquette University and I was just sitting down thinking about my high school track career, and I realize that I need to give you a grand thank you. This thank you comes a few months late, so I apologize for that. When I came out to Minnesota to see you the last time we met it was in February or March, the start of my track season. You told me you saw some big jumps coming out of me and a good season. Well I just wanted you to know that last school year I actually did win the Illinois high jump state championships. I think a lot of that is due to you and just some of the things you told me and the kind and helpful approach you try to teach all of us these basic track skills.

So I just wanted to say thank you for everything that you did teach me. I think you are just an upstanding guy, and no matter the level the track athlete was at you really did try to teach them some great principles and improve them as jumpers. You were never condescending or rude in the approach you used to teach us these techniques, and i respect and admire that greatly. I attached my track schedule to this email, if you’re ever in the area (none of them are in Texas however). I hope all is going well in Texas !
