(Mother of Trevor Yedoni) – University of Minnesota - 3X Minnesota State High Jump CHAMPION!!!
As a parent of an athlete, I would high recommend Hugo Munoz and the Kangaroo Track Club. My son, Trevor, first trained with Hugo in his high jump clinic 5 years ago as a 7th grader, learning the proper techniques of jumping. Every athlete has their natural, God given talents – but I believe that in order to compete at an Elite level you need a good coach to refine the skills. Hugo did an excellent job of not just refining the skills, but also getting to know Trevor as a person and discovering what motivates him.
Sophomore year Trevor was coming off of an injury, he trained with Hugo in his clinic and escalated his PR from 6’1” to 6’8” at the Kangaroo High Jump Festival 2 weeks later. 2 years later Trevor was 2010 MN State Champion at 6’10” and now has a new PR of 7’ and going for the MN State Record of 7’1 – ¼”, going to USA T&F Nationals in June and a Scholarship to the U of M. Hugo’s connections were also instrumental during the college recruiting process.
In addition, I would highly endorse the Kangaroo/Teneo High Jump Festival. Hugo has strong connections within the Elite jumping community, and attracts many elite jumpers to the festival. Seeing these athletes as a 7th grader gave Trevor a dream and passion for the sport that he hopes to take to the Olympics.
