Matt and Rachel Olson (Parents):My Daughter Maddie Olson was anxious to begin her high school high jump season as a freshmen only to have the season cancelled due to the pandemic. We were eager to find a coach and location Maddie could jump after a 2 years away from competition before her Sophomore season. We found the Kangaroo Track Club and contacted Hugo. Maddie attended the 3 day camp in Minnesota and we were extremely pleased with the results. The confidence Maddie gained with Hugo heading into her 1st high school season was instrumental to her successful season. She was confident in her approach, steps and continued to build on the techniques Hugo worked on with Maddie as she continued to improve all season eventually leading to the Iowa State Championship and a PR of 5’9”. We attended camp again before Maddie’s Junior season and Hugo was able help Maddie make adjustment and continued improvement as she matured and gained strength. Hugo has shown us he not only cares about how Maddie does on the track but is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful as we consider college options. We will undoubtedly continue to attend Hugo’s camps throughout Maddie’s high jump career.

Maddie Olson (Athlete): Hugo has been very influential in my high jump career so far! After attending his camps I immediately saw improvements and consistency I had never seen before! Hugo was able to tweak minor details that most wouldn’t recognize and they had major impacts on my improvement. Going to Hugo’s camps helped not only my technique, but also my confidence in my ability. Hugo’s camps are very educational, fun, and very beneficial. Hugo is a great person who genuinely cares about his athletes and their futures! I would strongly recommend Hugo’s camps to any jumper looking to further their high jump career!
