Mike Cerrone (Sarah Cerrone’s Dad)
Hugo, Hi. Congratulations on the new indoor facility. Looks great. Good news! Sarah accepted an athletic scholarship and signed her National Letter of Intent to high jump for Colorado Mesa University next year. She is super excited. (Attached is a picture of Sarah signing her NLI.) Sarah was pursued by eight different colleges (both D1 and D2). We visited all the schools this summer/fall on both official and unofficial visits. And received multiple offers. She found the perfect fit of academics, athletics, and campus life at CMU. Thank you for your excellent instruction, advice, and support at your summer camp. Before your camp, Sarah was struggling with a bad club experience. She had two different coaches telling her two different things and both radically changing her approach. The terrible environment damaged her spirit so much, her could not clear five foot (after clearing 5’4″ six weeks earlier). So we pulled her from the club and looked for alternatives. Luckily we found you and Kangaroo Track Club. I read all the information on your website and discussed it with Sarah. We decided that we would take the long journey across the country for a long weekend to attend your summer camp, festival, and video analysis. It was an excellent decision. You accessed Sarah’s approach, recommended she go back to her original approach, and believe in herself. Within a few days with you, she was jumping with confidence, jumping higher, and loving the sport again. It was worth the 900 mile drive. Thank you for your dedication to young jumping athletes. We hope to see you again soon. -Mike Cerrone (father of Sarah Cerrone)
